Friday night I had the fun of going to the gym with a co-worker, following the gym we thought it would be a good idea to attend Light Up Night Downtown Pittsburgh…boy I did not expect to be around that many people.
There were thousands upon thousands of people in a few block radius. We had a really fun time, but it took us over an hour to find somewhere to eat and another hour to get our food. Being in good company makes it worth the wait. I would definitely go back in the future, just not next year.
I have never felt so close to strangers than when I was pretty much shoved and stuck on them. Not by any choice of our own really, we were pushed along like a bunch of salmon trying to get up stream. I was not sure if I wanted to laugh or cry being crammed so closely with so many people.
Thankfully everyone we met was really nice and we had a good laugh about it. We even talked to people who were visiting from Oklahoma. They were so excited to get to be a part of the city even just for that night. It made me proud to say I live near this magical place.
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. It helps to remind people to not be so selfish and to be grateful for Christ and his birthday.
